Alfa Romeo did not have a mid-size executive sedan in their offering for a long time but they changed this last year when they released the all new 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio which is the high performance version of the upcoming Giulia.
2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Release date
While Alfa did reveal most of the details about the car, they will finally release the final version of the QV at the Chicago Auto Show next month.
The car is expected to carry over roughly the same design as the one released a year ago but this time around it might get some interior and exterior changes and most importantly, a price.
If you didn’t know just yet, the car is using an all new platform which has been developed specifically by Alfa for their executive sedans. Unlike the older 159, the car is rear wheel drive in the base form which is quite impressive for them.
Also, the car’s unibody chassis is made mostly out of aluminum, high strength steel and some carbon fiber bits which is really impressive for its class.
Price for Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
The car will likely debut for a price higher than $70,000 which would be higher than that of the M3 or the C 63 AMG but then again, the Giulia is faster than the two by a big margin.
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Engine
Under the hood of the 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio lives a rather impressive 2.9 liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Some people said that this engine was built in cooperation with Ferrari and this would likely not be all that far from the truth.
The engine can make up to 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque which is very impressive for its size. However, the chassis is no slouch either and while the car’s total weight is around 3,300 pounds which is comparable to some of its competitors, it has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution.
This coupled with the massive amount of power provided by its engine makes the Giulia very fast. The car will come as standard with a 6 speed manual gearbox with a short throw that will send the power towards the rear wheels via a carbon fiber drive-shaft.
This will allow the car to hit 60 MPH in just 3.8 seconds and hit a maximum top speed of 191 MPH which is faster than any of its direct competitors.
If this is not impressive enough for you then take into account that the car did a Nurburgring lap in just 7 minutes and 39 seconds which is just as fast as the old Ferrari F430 Scuderia and quite a bit faster than both the M3 and its Mercedes counterpart.
Exterior of Alfa Romeo Giulia
The design of the 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio will likely remain unchanged from the car released nearly a year ago. We do expect to see some new rims and better tires offered with it as well as a few more color options.
However, it is unlikely that Alfa will mess with the exterior even more, especially since the car looks perfectly balanced as it is with its massive quad-exhaust pipes in the back and active front splitter.
Alfa Romeo Giulia 2016 Interior
Inside the cabin should be similar to the exterior as well. Here the car will receive a unique steering wheel for the QV model which will feature the “start” button on the wheel itself rather than on the dashboard.
On top of that, the car will come with Recaro seats as standard, leather upholstery with a couple of different coloring options as well as carbon fiber and aluminum inserts throughout.
The model showcased a year ago was boasting five seats but there are now some rumors which suggest that the car released in Chicago will actually offer four individual seats.
