Ram joined the ever-growing pickup market in 1980 with its mighty Dodge Dakota. Ram is now working hard to develop the Fiat-based replacement for the Dodge Dakota. Ram will use Fiat’s expertise and knowledge in the small truck segment to peddle a perfect model which is ready to deal with pretty tough and ruthless competition.
Speaking of which, the Ram Rampage’s major competition includes GM’s, Nissan’s, Honda’s, and Toyota’s vehicle. The pickup market may be a tricky ground but we believe that the Rampage will be the cat’s whisker once it hits dealership. It will be a unitized model offered with both, two-wheel and all-wheel-drive systems. The Rampage will first arrive as a two-door vehicle, while a four-door model should arrive at a later date.
The exterior design of the vehicle is mostly based on the Fiat Strada truckette. This is a pretty popular model in Europe, Mexico, and South America. Just like the neo-Rampage, it has a unitized body and front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive layout.
As we have already mentioned, the Rampage will be offered as a two-door model at first place, while a roomier and more functional four-door model will arrive later. The rampage will be flexible, safe, and capable vehicle, just like other Ram’s products.
The front end of the vehicle will be occupied by a newly designed grille witnessing that the vehicle belongs to Ram. A pair of newly designed headlights and taillights has been added. Both the headlights and taillights are designed with LED technology.
Interior of Ram Rampage
The cabin of the new 2017 Ram Rampage is something the carmaker can brag about. All Ram’s products have meticulously designed cabins loaded with cutting-edge technology, and the upcoming Rampage is not an exception.
Details are still a mystery, but expect premium materials and finishes across the cabin. The new-Rampage will benefit from new infotainment system, navigation, climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, and many other useful features. More details about the interior design of the 2017 Ram Rampage will be available soon. Until then, let’s find out what the beauty hides behind its shiny grille.
Ram Rampage 2017 Engine
The carmaker hasn’t confirmed anything yet but it seems that the neo-Rampage will be offered with two engine options. The first engine option comes in the form of a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine.
Output ratings haven’t been announced either, but the engine will probably be capable of producing roughly 110 horses. The second and more powerful engine is a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-banger. Power output of the former is said to be around 180 horses.
Besides front-wheel- and four-wheel-drive layouts, two-door or four-door versions, and two engine options, the carmaker offers two transmission options too. The aforementioned mills can be paired to either 6-speed manual gearbox or 9-speed automatic transmission.
2017 Ram Rampage Release date and Price
The 2017 Ram Rampage is scheduled to go on sale in late 2016. The base price of the vehicle will be around $17,000. Higher trim levels with additional features and technology will cost more. We eagerly wait to see this powerful mid-size pickup on roads.
